The Path to Personal and Professional Development
The path to personal and professional development is different for everyone.
Depending on what your interests, dreams, and goals have become, your path to personal and professional development will be different than anyone else. Personal development and professional development are undoubtedly linked. Without professional development and success, you cannot achieve personal development and your personal dream. Because of this, there are some typical similarities on the path to personal and professional development.
Now I’m at an age where I’m not starting out in the traditional sense but in the ONLINE sense I am, so it’s really a new beginning for me.
Here I am
I’m hurtling towards retirement, live here in the UK with my wife and 2 adult children, my daughter works for an app in London and my son is finishing university in Brighton and being in a band wants to take up a career in the music
Being online is a bit scary but also exciting – being able to communicate with people across the would by clicking a button – incredible!
Not only does it fascinate me but it affects our daily lives so much. Publishing and advertising has been revolutionised, my daughter works for an app, my son creates & edits music online,
my wife uses software to construct her property reports.
Developing a business on line can be frustrating, I’ve tried it several times and I’m sorry to say I’ve given up, life’s got in the way etc. and then I’ve gone to seminar, bought another shiny thing in a box and failed again.
This time is different – my mind-set is in the right place, I’m committed to devoting time and effort, my focus on a plan is set in daily stone!
So Guys this is my PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
But you need to go through a process:
The first step on the path is to decide what exactly you want to do with your life and your career. To do this, you must examine your strengths, weaknesses, interests, skills, and talents. Discovering more about yourself and what you want from life will help you to find your way to a rewarding and fulfilling career that will take you where you most want to go.
Once you have decided what career path you want to take, you have to figure out how to get there, and how you will obtain your ultimate dream. Most personal and professional development requires some kind of furthering education beyond high school. If your career can be started without education, you may want to start your career and continue your education while working.
There are many ways that you can do this.
There are part time and nigh classes available through most community colleges and small universities. One great way to continue your personal and professional development is through online colleges and universities. These learning institutions allow you to advance in personal and professional development on a flexible schedule that allows you to work around your career.
For me its about learning online in my spare time – there are so many free courses or cheap ones that you can sign up for but the key is being motivated and committing time – that’s where most people struggle
