How To Model Your Garden Space

Hi There

Here’s My Gardening Experience

Gardening was not something that came naturally to me, as a youngster my parents had a large garden, but when my Dad died and my mum was working all hours to put food on the table I just had to help out and get stuck in.

To be honest I hated it, cutting loads of grass with a push mower, slightly better when I got a petrol mower, pulling up weeds, digging over the vegetable garden – I ended up with more blisters than I knew what to do with. But it had to be done also having vegetables out of the garden was pretty important as well to make the family budget go further.

As time went on I got used to it, then when we moved to a smaller house the garden became ornamental rather that functioning as a food source but as it was a complete renovation of the house and garden it gave us the opportunity to plan out our new gardening space from scratch.

That was fun. Leaving home, I then had a break from gardening until my wife and I bought our first home. You can read my experiences of that first one a bit later. It wasn’t until we moved to our current home some 30 plus years ago that things changed for the better.

Over the years we have remodeled our garden several times especially when we had young children with paddling pools and swings to accommodate. Fortunately, my wife definitely has green fingers (more so than me anyway) and she really likes our little vegetable patch area.
