How to Get Quick Traffic to a Landing Page

It takes time to build a list. Once you’re landing page is up, you’ll see sign-ups come trickling in. But every marketer would love for that trickle to be more like a flood. So, how do you get traffic to a landing page quickly?

Ads that Drive Traffic

Read on……

Ads are the fastest way to go. You can take out an ad and see results almost immediately. The downside is that you have to pay for them, but there are a few ways to get the most bang for your buck (and of course it’s worth the money if you want traffic quickly).

PPC is the most cost-effective because you only pay for each click. In other words, you decide exactly how much you want to pay and set the limit at that amount. This makes budgeting for it easy.

One very effective ad strategy most don’t consider is the solo ad. A solo ad is one where you don’t go through an ad network. The way it usually works is that you pay someone with a list to mention you to their subscribers. They send out a message with some sales copy telling their subscribers about your list. Interested members head right over and now they’re subscribed to you too.

This method can be cheap but it’s not always easy. You have to locate someone with a good list and make them an offer. If you know someone off-hand, that’s a nice bonus, but most of us don’t. You can contact people through their sites or, even better, get to know people on IM forums. Negotiate a price or swap with them. The real challenge is finding someone with a list in your target market.

There’s also Facebook Ads. Facebook is huge right now but lots of people say its ad network isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. I’d say that you should be the judge. Try it out and see if it works for you. One warning, though – Facebook often takes a while to approve ads. It may not be ideal for ‘quick’ traffic.

Free Methods for Fast Traffic

There are two free methods I’ve found to work particularly well in driving traffic to landing pages and they’re both very fast and easy. One is forum posting. This is where you join a forum and hang out there, and your signature file has a link to your site along with some juicy copy. As soon as you make your first post, you’ll see traffic.

Another good method is blog commenting. It’s as simple as just leaving a comment on somebody’s blog. But to do blog commenting well, a few things need to be in place first:

– The blog needs to be high traffic with a wide readership that includes your target market.

– Your comment should be one of the first (the earlier, the better).

– You’ve got to say something good, interesting, helpful, etc., and not promotional.

– It needs to let you use a URL.

Like forum posting, as soon as you comment, you’ll see traffic if you do it right.

It usually takes a while to build a list, but these methods can speed it up considerably.
