How Your Local Newspaper & magazine Shop Could Earn You a Fortune

Welcome back

Here’s some of my basic research methods that I recommend you use to really get to grips with whether a niche or market holds the key profit potential for you to devote your time & energies to and make money from.

YouTube

People now search via video and YouTube is the number one (some say over 60% of searches are now geared towards video in search terms). Search your niche see what video content is there, especially the ‘how to’ solving issues and problems video content – check out how many times some of the videos in your niche have been viewed – you’ll be amazed

Visit Amazon – is your niche a thriving marketplace with both physical and possibly audio books, what’s the volume, are they being bought in big numbers, is it popular? – Again this identifies a strong niche.

Go online – to Google Groups & membership sites

See which have large, ‘active’ memberships, check out what information is being search for, what problems do people need solutions.

Key Tip – type in search box ‘How to’ see what pops up. If nothing try ‘How to stop snoring’ – that is if you’re on a user group about sleep problems, i.e. be specific – see what’s being asked for.

Click Bank again search it, see what products are being offered, how many, the price and quality and how popular they are – again all good indications as to the size, strength and therefore opportunity within your chosen niche

Offline Research:

Visit your local Newsagent -Do some physical research in your local W H Smiths if you’re in the UK/newsagent. Check out the magazine racks, are there magazines targeting your niche, how many, what’s the quality of content etc? – Several magazines in a niche suggest enthusiasts hungry for information.

Stand, look & learn – most large newsagents sell 1000s of magazines every month in 100s of different markets, many of which are very niche, i.e.: metal detecting (opps given away a strong hint there!), woodworking, keeping chickens in your garden – you get my drift. See what’s there and what niches appear popular.

Finally ……

So there you go what a simple tick box check -off list. Once you’ve been through them all just jot down your findings, if it ticks more boxes than not you may have found your first money making niche

So ok now you’ve done your research, your ready to go but then the big question pops up ‘what kind of product to sell’ now this is a killer because if you get it wrong, you’ll spend loads of time & possibly money creating something that doesn’t sell so…..

But again if you search around my blog you’ll find tons of hints and tips to get you started – video courses, ebooks, special reports, audio – the list is endless, it really is so don’t fret – one good idea is trying to establish how your chosen niche likes to receive its information – go with the flow, ie if there’s no appertite for video but they like a physical product then you have your answer – again its look, listen and learn.

Till next time
