This Is A Light Bulb Moment (Or it Should Be!)

I kid you not and much of that is down to regular, proactive article marketing and submission. So listen up when I tell you that if you follow these 6 tips your article creation will become easier and more proficient even if you’re like Sam & I who’d never ever written an article before we got into internet marketing – absolutely true so if we can do it so can you-believe it!

My Top Tips To Ensure Your Article Gets Read

Here are 6 proven tips for getting people to read your articles all the way through.  Study these and master them, and your writing skills will improve immensely.

1.Keep paragraphs short.

It is tiring to even look at a page that’s just one giant hunk of text.  It confuses the reader and makes their mind feel just as jumbled as the page looks.  They’ll quickly start skimming and moving on, and they’ll be looking for articles that have smaller, more bite-sized chunks that are easier to digest.  In fact, a paragraph can even be just a sentence or word.

2. Use bullets or numbers.

Your article’s points will be easily understood by the reader when they’re written out this way.  If you’re writing an article on tips, for example, give each tip its own bullet point.  This helps the reader to understand what is most important.  It also breaks up the text so that it’s not just one block.  Bullets and numbers make an article more visually interesting, which will make it stand out from the others.

3. Divide your text with sub-headings.

These are like the little titles that introduce different themes within an article.  Even if it’s just a quick 400-word general information article, put a few sub-headings.  This helps to make transitions smooth in the text.  Like bullets and numbers, it helps them understand the main ideas of the article.

4. Write a Great Title.

Your title should grab their attention and make them want to read more.  Speak directly to their curiosity.  If you can entice them with your title, the body of the article will definitely be read.  You can use keywords that people are searching for, questions they might be asking or something totally unique that makes them say, “What is this?”  They should also be short and relevant to your article.

5. Hold their attention from the beginning to the end.

Start with a real-life situation that they can relate to.  Pinpoint their problem.  This creates a resonance with the reader.  Use descriptions and metaphors, but don’t make it overkill.  The point is to make sure that the text moves along with the reader’s mind.  Don’t get too hung up on any one point.  Using metaphors and stories should make it more interesting for them.

6. Whenever possible, use actual figures

And not just vague phrases.  For example, instead of telling them that many people suffer from such-and-such a disease, give them the actual number.  This makes it sound more authoritative, as well as offering more information.  However, keep it from being too formal.  It should sound friendly and speak directly, like a chat with someone you know.

These six points should always be kept in mind when writing web copy.  Make sure that you speak to them and hold their attention all the way through, and this will boost your readership immensely.
